corono-radicular biological restoration of maxillary central incisors by direct method

چکیده
this case report refers to the esthetic and functional restorations of extensively damaged maxillary central incisors with dental caries in a 32-year-old woman, with the use of posts and crowns made from natural extracted teeth. proper restoration of such teeth with the use of natural teeth fragments are known as “biological restoration.” biological restorations can be done by using the fragments of the patients own tooth and if that is not available, tooth fragment can be obtained from an extracted tooth. these biological posts and crowns present a low cost option and an alternative technique for the morphofunctional recovery of extensively damaged teeth. there are limitations with the use of natural extracted teeth (homogenous bonding) for restoration such as the diffi culty of fi nding teeth with a similar color and shape as that of the destroyed element, or patient may refuse to accept a tooth fragment from another patient, which prevents execution of the restoration. key words: biological restoration, extracted teeth, teeth fragment

Fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth with different direct corono-radicular restoration methods
BACKGROUND Endodontically treated teeth are widely considered to be more susceptible to fracture than vital teeth. Obturation procedures and post placement have been a main cause of vertical root fracture. MATERIAL AND METHODS Forty-eight human premolars with standardized weakened roots were endodontically treated and allocated to four experimental groups (n=12). After root canal treatment, i...

متن کاملEmergence times of maxillary central incisors and mandibular lateral incisors were less variable than those of maxillary lateral incisors and mandibular central incisors. Maxillary lateral incisors
Understanding of tooth eruption in humans remains incomplete. We hypothesized that genetic factors contribute significantly to phenotypic variation in emergence of primary incisors. Modelfitting was applied to data from Australian twins to quantify contributions of genetic and environmental factors to variation in timing of emergence of human primary incisors. There were no significant differen...

Developmental dental anomalies refer to deviation from the normal size, shape, number or structure of external and internal anatomy of a tooth. Their presence have functional and clinical significance. With no definite reason some dental anomalies may occur commonly in some specific teeth like microdontia in maxillary lateral incisors, dens invaginatus in maxillary lateral incisors, dens evagin...
متن کاملEsthetic Restoration of Two Severely Decayed Maxillary Central Incisors: A Case Report
coronal tooth tissue can use a post to retain a core enabling definitive restoration. Post material has been, until recently, primarily metal--be it cast or prefabricated. Currently, fiber-posts are promoted as being advantageous due to a favorable failure mechanism which may protect the root from fracture [1]. Endodontic posts are necessary to provide adequate retention and support when no suf...
